We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Payroll Operations Manager to assist team members with tactical and operational functions for multi-state payroll processing, reporting, and general ledger and tax reporting and research, within the Payroll Services Department.

 

What You Will Do

  • Ensure multi-cycle, multi-state payrolls are processed accurately and timely for all 4 entities
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State and local tax and labor laws
  • Ensure proper reporting, both cash and non-cash, and accurate tax withholdings from payments to team members
  • Identify areas and make recommendations to improve processes and create efficiencies within processes
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve any pay or system discrepancies
  • Perform system administrative and maintenance functions
  • Ensure accuracy of paid time off accruals
  • Audit of payroll tax returns and tax deposits to ensure timeliness and accuracy
  • Provide performance feedback, goal setting, training and development for all Payroll team members
  • Oversee pay card program
  • Oversee the documentation of payroll related processes
  • Prepare reports for internal and external customers as requested
  • Provide back up to payroll processing, GL, and payroll tax functions as needed

What We Need From Our Senior Payroll Operations Manager

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word and Excel
  • Ability to solve problems and make sound business decisions
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of employees’ personal data and the Organization’s financial data
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize
  • Attention to detail, excellent communication and analytical skills

Experience/ Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • BS or BA preferred
  • Minimum 5 years Payroll, Accounting, or similar financial experience
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience preferred
