Title: Senior Procurement Specialist

Industry: Construction

At least eight years of construction procurement, preconstruction, or commercial contracting experience is required.

We are partnering with a growing construction organization seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to support the commercial execution of construction contracts across a diverse portfolio of projects.

This role will work closely with Construction and Preconstruction teams to translate project scopes and vendor selections into clear, enforceable agreements aligned with cost, schedule, and risk objectives. The ideal candidate brings deep construction contracting expertise, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to guide project teams through complex commercial decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate awarded scopes and vendor selections into executable construction contracts
  • Define scopes of work, commercial terms, pricing structures, and contract requirements
  • Lead contract negotiations with subcontractors, suppliers, and other project partners
  • Evaluate vendor proposals for scope gaps, pricing inconsistencies, exclusions, and potential risk exposure
  • Structure agreements with clear inclusions, exclusions, cost drivers, and financial terms
  • Partner with Construction and Preconstruction teams to ensure project requirements are clearly defined and contractually aligned
  • Coordinate with Legal, Risk, Operations, and other internal stakeholders to resolve contractual and commercial issues
  • Prepare and route agreements through internal review and approval workflows
  • Provide commercial guidance to project teams during vendor selection and proposal review
  • Coach site and project leaders on scope development, vendor comparisons, and contracting best practices
  • Promote the consistent use of contract templates, playbooks, and standardized processes
  • Identify opportunities to improve cost structures, reduce commercial risk, and increase contracting efficiency
  • Maintain accurate contract documentation and support agreements through final execution

Qualifications

  • Eight or more years of experience in construction procurement, preconstruction, commercial contracting, or a related field
  • Ability to travel approximately 20%, primarily for regional site visits across Texas, Chicago, Atlanta, and other East Coast locations, with occasional trips to the Atlanta headquarters.
  • Strong understanding of construction cost structures, contract frameworks, and risk allocation
  • Proven experience negotiating complex construction or project-based commercial agreements
  • Experience reviewing subcontractor and vendor proposals, scopes, pricing, inclusions, and exclusions
  • Ability to identify contractual gaps, financial risks, and potential project exposure
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Construction, Preconstruction, Legal, Risk, and Operations teams
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Ability to influence and advise stakeholders without direct authority
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and consistent follow-through in a fast-paced environment

What the Company Offers

  • Opportunity to join a growing, high-performing construction organization
  • Collaborative environment with exposure to complex construction projects
  • Competitive compensation and bonus eligibility
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
