Our client seeks an experienced Demand Planning and Order Management Leader to oversee the order processing and fulfillment teams and is responsible for ensuring orders are processed accurately and efficiently. Analyzes customer and vendor demand and develops forecasts for future demand. Works closely with leadership to ensure adequate distribution of duties and cross-training by all staff is managed and aligns with the needs for sales and leadership.  Experience in the retail industry a plus.

 

This position is full-time M-F, in-office and located in Charlotte, NC.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

 

Order Management

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the order processing department 
  • Direct and guide staff, and monitor their performance 
  • Ensure customers receive quality service 
  • Work with other departments like sales, to ensure orders are delivered on time and are accurate 
  • Create and implement policies and procedures for the order processing department 
  • Troubleshoot order processing issues and resolving customer complaints 
  • Prepare order performance reports and analyze trends 
  • Maintain accurate records and systems 
  • Onboard and develop new staff and cross-train department for adequate coverage.
  • Work with customers to de-escalate contentious situations 
  • Ensure the team has knowledge of the product line, prices, lead times, and marketing programs 
  • Work with manufacturing to resolve customer order issues 
  • Process customer returns and identify opportunities for improvement 

 

Demand Planning

  • Create demand forecasts for multiple time horizons and levels of aggregation. 
  • Review historical sales and purchase data, research demand drivers, and prepare forecast data. 
  • Work with cross-functional leadership; sales, marketing, and customer finance to understand demand drivers and obtain accurate information. 
  • Lead and direct scheduling and orders staff. 
  • Create production, attachment, and inventory schedules. 
  • Implement solutions to improve the accuracy of demand forecasts. 
  • Train new demand forecasters and analysts and cross-train department for adequate coverage.
  • Meet with other managers and executives to review strategies

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Demand Planning, or Order Management, with at least 2+ years in a supervisory role
  • Strong SAP experience
  • Inventory planning and forecasting experience
  • Customer order management experience
  • Logistics and warehouse operations knowledge
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Cross-functional leadership ability
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
